Frequently asked questions
Everything you might want to know before you start.
How does DNScheck detect changes?
DNScheck syncs your zones from each provider on a schedule and diffs every record against the last known state. Any create, update, or delete — a value, TTL, or proxy flag — is recorded and can trigger an alert.
Is my provider API token safe?
Yes. Tokens are encrypted at rest with AES-256-GCM and are only used to read and manage your DNS. They are never shown again after you connect a provider.
Which providers are supported?
Cloudflare, DigitalOcean, AWS Route 53, Hetzner DNS, Vultr, and Linode — with more on the way. Missing yours? Get in touch and we will add it.
How will I be notified of changes?
By email, Telegram, or webhook. Notification destinations are configured per team, and alerts fire the moment a change is detected.
What do the health checks cover?
Each monitored zone is checked on every sync: nameserver delegation, dangling CNAME/ALIAS targets (a subdomain-takeover risk), SPF, DMARC, and DKIM records, domain expiry, and the registrar transfer lock. Failures alert you through your notification channels.
Does DNScheck keep a history of my records?
Yes. Every sync is stored as an event, so you can browse the full history of a zone and see exactly what changed and when.
Is there a free trial?
Yes — a 14-day free trial, no card required. Connect a provider and start monitoring in minutes.
